Biography and artistic background
I am Sev, a French self-taught painter born in 1977.
I discovered painting about a decade ago. What began as a simple pastime gradually became a passion — then a calling. An irresistible need to give shape to my inner visions.
For me, painting is an essential act — a gentle form of resistance, a space of meditation, a breath of freedom from the noise of everyday life.
Each artwork is born from a deep necessity: to express without words what I feel — that subtle blend of light and shadow, silence and chaos.
Journey, Inspirations, and Influences
My artistic path wasn’t built in art schools but through observation, emotion, encounters, and travels.
I draw inspiration from nature, music, faces, and those suspended moments when time seems to hold its breath.
A soft saxophone, a musician in dim light, a floating market at dawn, or the silent power of a lion — all these scenes inspire my colors and contrasts.
My art seeks depth through simplicity and atmosphere.
I mostly paint on canvas, but my works are also available as art prints on metal, acrylic glass, and fine art paper.
My style moves between symbolic realism and poetic minimalism.
Philosophy and Artistic Vision
I don’t paint merely to decorate walls. I paint to open something within you — to touch, awaken, and connect.
My art is visceral, intimate, sometimes raw — but always sincere.
